Save the Date: New Exhibition ‘Expat History of The Hague’
An exciting new exhibition offering a fresh insight into expatriate The Hague is being organised by ACCESS, the Expatriate Archive Centre (EAC) and the Municipal Archives of The Hague. The exhibition has the working title of “Expat History of The Hague” and will take place from 26 October until 14 November 2015 in The Hague City Hall. The aim of this exhibition is to show The Hague as seen through the eyes of expats who call and called this city home.
Collection of Religious Writings Finds a Home in a Maltese Archive
At the Expatriate Archive Centre (EAC) we collect the life stories of expats and their families. So what happens when something is donated that we don’t collect? Last year, we received an entire collection which did not fit the theme of our archive. We held it safely at our archival storage facility and searched for a more suitable location. Finally in September this year, it was delivered safely to the Curia Arcivescovile (Diocese Archives) in Malta.
Vote Now for the Archival Piece of the Year
October is History Month in the Netherlands. To celebrate this, archives from across the country have selected one piece from their collections to enter into a competition called Stuk van het jaar (Piece of the Year). This annual competition started last year and proved to be a great way to showcase the diversity of material in Dutch archives. The Expatriate Archive Centre is one of the smaller private archives taking part and so we ask you to show your support by voting for us at: http://www.onsdna.nl/expat-archive/.
